We've just returned from Ely, where Lizzy and I spent a weekend hosted by Engaged Encounters. We were one of nine couples taking time out to prepare for their future married life. Many challenging questions were asked with plenty of time available to discuss our responses as a couple. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We even met one couple who will be marrying on the same day as us. The retreat centre was set in beautiful grounds and the catering was fantastic and being only a stones throw from Ely Cathedral we managed to squeeze in a visit. Lizzy and I felt so blessed by the hosts and now feel better prepared for married life. The cost of the weekend was covered by charitable donation; which we really appreciated. Perhaps rather than buying us a wedding gift, you may consider a donation to Engaged Encounters to allow other couples to benefit too.
